In her own words
A career as a midwife for 30 years, spent both in the UK and abroad, has enabled me to explore all aspects of fertility, pregnancy and birth.
I regularly lecture and present seminars to health professionals, parentcraft groups and the NCT on complementary therapies and hypnotherapy during pregnancy and birthing.
I’m passionate about keeping pregnancy and childbirth natural wherever possible and I qualified in complementary therapies 11 years ago, including aromatherapy and reflexology. I also helped develop a training programme for midwives in aromatherapy and massage at my local hospital in 2002.
Over the years I’ve continued to explore natural choices for childbirth and have developed my skills and qualifications to include hypnotherapy, hypnobirthing, and emotional freedom technique (EFT).
If you’d like to discuss any aspect of hypnotherapy and complementary therapies during pregnancy, please give me a call.
Hypnotherapy in pregnancy
I became fascinated by the potential of using hypnotherapy in pregnancy and birth. A combination of these techniques has given women more choice and autonomy in their desire for a natural labour and birth. I’ve been offering hypnobirthing courses, incorporating my skill and knowledge both as a midwife and hypnotherapist, to provide a holistic approach to pregnancy and birth. I also offer therapy to women suffering from severe morning sickness (hyperemesis). Research has also shown that hypnotherapy may increase the success rate of assisted pregnancy such as IVF.
