Specialities

I work across the range of common (though intensely personal and potentially destructive) difficulties such as depression, anxiety, and relationship concerns, but also have a special interest in self-esteem and how we perceive ourselves. I'm especially drawn to how we can make our work lives less stressful and more satisfying.

My first career was in publishing, where as a manager and project manager I particularly enjoyed recruiting and leading teams, often liaising entirely by email and phone. Since 2003 I have worked in the NHS supporting doctors in their training and career decision-making and this has included running workshops for different groups.

I am a founding member of counsellingoxford, which offers face-to-face counselling and also runs workshops on mindfulness practice and other topics.

In her own words

Hi, I am a qualified counsellor who originally started training so I could listen to my children better!

My way of working is based on a fundamental belief that we all have the capacity for growth and self-development and therefore the capacity to either change situations or how we experience them. Just reflecting on where we are now, where we’d like to be and what has been holding us back, can help loosen up old patterns of behaviour and help us identify new directions.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapies (BACP).

I’m very happy to have an initial exploratory call so you can decide whether further conversations would be helpful.
