In her own words

My name is Bev Karia and I am a health psychologist and cognitive behavioural therapist working in private practice in Suffolk and central London.

I have over 10 years experience of working in this field and I am accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, the lead organisation for CBT in the UK. I am also a graduate member of the British Psychological Society.

Previously I have worked as a nurse, midwife, health visitor and teacher.

More recently I have developed a weight loss programme using a combination of CBT and mindfulness which tackles emotional eating and addresses the beliefs and behaviours which contribute to weight gain. Clients can participate in the programme online or attend retreats.

Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is a psychological therapy which was originally developed to treat depression but has been shown to be a highly effective way of treating a range of psychological and emotional problems including anxiety, panic, OCD, phobias and low self esteem.
