A counsellor and psychotherapist, Christopher works with individuals coping with issues including anger, depression, alcohol and addiction, self-esteem, bereavement and life changes. He can also help couples having relationship issues.
I'm an expert who specialises in:
Hello, I’m Christopher Clow and I’ve been helping people cope and grow despite some very difficult problems for many years now. I can help you at Greatvine with counselling or psychotherapy for yourself, or as part of a same or opposite sex couple or a family. It could be a general state of sadness, rage, worry, depression, anxiety or despair that’s the problem, or we can work with specific issues like alcohol, addiction and recovery from trauma.
When you call, we can discuss what made you decide to do so, what you are looking for and how to integrate and blend some appropriate therapeutic approaches to suit your needs. You may be feeling down, wretched, sad or worried about something; you may be hoping to make changes in behaviour. Perhaps you’re looking for reasons, or feeling unfulfilled, unproductive, or trapped. You could be feeling life is unravelling or be looking for support for a specific issue, for example, depression, anger, couple-work, or an Internet addiction. Often counselling and psychotherapy naturally go hand in hand. I’ll work with an Eclectic/Pluralistic approach, meaning I won’t be dogmatic about any one particular way of working. You will be able to work within Humanistic, Integrative, Family-Systemic, CBT, Mindfulness, Pyschodynamic and Existential thinking to help you focus on what it's like to be you and on what's going on in your life today. I’m here for expert advice, therapy and support if you’re feeling low, sad, unfulfilled, unproductive or maybe even somehow trapped in a corner. Together we’ll aim to find the best way for you to cope in the 'here-and-now'. We’ll also address how you got there - and where you are going next. If it’s appropriate to your needs, I can use specialist hypnotherapeutic tools which involve some grounding and relaxation exercises alongside guided and/or creative visualisation techniques. I’ll also to be able to bring Trauma Incident Reduction (TIR) techniques and tools to our session if required. Finally, we also have the option to integrate an Egan model of achieving change through personal coaching, in the context of my acting as a personal consultant rather than a counsellor or psychotherapist. Whatever your reason for calling, I look forward to meeting you over the phone to begin to help.
