An energetic and creative approach helps Debbie get the most from the parents and children she coaches. She’s the author of NHS book ‘Ready, Steady, Toddler!’ and writes regularly for Prima Baby and Psychologies magazines.

Achievements

Author of NHS book Ready, Steady, Toddler!
Monthly column for Prima Baby and Psychologies magazines.
Masters degree in parenting skills, child development and family assessment.

Specialities

I do lots of different work with parents, sometimes related to a specific difficulty with their children such as food, sleep or discipline, but also around issues in their own lives such as relationships, business, career, weight loss, lack of confidence or becoming a parent for the first time.

With personal experience of the issues involved in combining a business with a young family, I enjoy working with women setting up new businesses or looking for a change in direction.

I work in a very practical, solution-focused way. This means helping people explore what they want to achieve, looking at new ideas and options and coming out with an individual answer tailored to their specific situation.

In her own words

A qualified and experienced life coach, I use my creative, energetic and accessible approach to help parents and children.

I’m a mum of two myself, and have a strong academic and professional background in a broad range of settings - from statutory services to my own private practice.

My monthly columns have appeared in Prima Baby and Psychologies magazines and I contribute regularly to other national magazines and newspapers. I’ve also featured as an expert coach on TV.

I run my own private practice now, but in the last decade I’ve worked with adults and children in a broad range of jobs from being a nanny, training and consultancy, children's worker in a women's refuge, social worker and therapeutic work.

With a masters degree in parenting skills, child development and family assessment, I qualified through the Coaching Academy with a distinction and advanced OCN diploma.

Recent projects have included a range of relaxation CDs for use during pregnancy and a book for the NHS called Ready, Steady, Toddler!
