A BPS Chartered and HPC Registered Psychologist, who is also listed as an expert witness. Debbie has years of experience helping people with a wide range of problems, including those who are going through stress or bullying in the workplace, have a personal injury or have been experiencing problems with relationships. Each of these can lead to many problems such as anxiety, depression, eating problems
I provide therapeutic intervention for a wide range of problems and have experience of working with: • Anxiety and panic • Cancer patients • Chronic fatigue syndrome • Depression • Grief/loss • OCD • Phobias • Postnatal depression • Post-traumatic stress disorder • Relationship issues • Stress • Sexuality issues
The approaches I use to work with people draw from a cognitive behavioural model, psychodynamic psychotherapy and solution-focused therapy. They’re tailor-made for each client and are suitable for anyone who wants to move closer to reaching their full potential.
I’m chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered by the Health Professionals Council (HPC) as a counselling psychologist. This means I’ve completed a psychology degree, a postgraduate diploma and a master’s in counselling psychology. Training to become a counselling psychologist takes a minimum of seven years and involves hands-on training and placements in many areas of practice. I’ve worked for the NHS and have now been running my own practice for seven years.
As well as being BPS-chartered, I’m also registered in the BPS directory of expert witnesses. This involves providing expert reports to the legal profession and opinions on medical/legal cases.
I’m a senior accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and psychotherapy, providing supervision to practitioners in several areas of practice.
