Specialities

None of us are born knowing how to parent. We may love our kids totally and unconditionally, but we’re not born with a gene that gives us an instinctual knowledge of how to solve daily childrearing problems. I cover some of the most common parenting issues and provide you with realistic, practical solutions.

Some disciplines I have mastered and of which have proven success are: • No-cry discipline: Learn how to encourage good behaviour and stop the whining, tantrums and tears • No-cry potty discipline: When to start potty training, and how to motivate your potty trainee • No-cry sleep solution: Teaching you gentle ways to help your baby sleep soundly through the night • Kid cooperation: Learn how to stop yelling, nagging and pleading and get them to cooperate

I also offer advice on: • General parenting and family life, such as bringing home a new sibling, nurturing your marriage, moving home, travelling with a little one and many more • Babycare, such as feeding, teething, independent play, colic, choosing a doctor and more

In her own words

Hi, my name’s Elizabeth. I’m a parenting educator and president of Better Beginnings Inc, a USA-based family resource and education company. I live with my husband and four children in the state of Washington, USA, and therefore, at this stage, am onboard to offer you advice via my written work only.

I frequently speak to parents at schools, hospitals, and parent groups around the world. My presentations are received with enthusiasm, and praised as realistic, warm and helpful.

I’m a regular radio show guest and frequently quoted as a parenting expert in newspapers and magazines such as Parents, Parenting, American Baby, Woman's Day, Good Housekeeping, and Redbook and on hundreds of parent-directed websites. I also publish a newsletter, Parent Tips, which is distributed in schools nationwide.

I’m the author of eight popular parenting books, available in 18 languages, and was a contributing author to The Successful Child with Dr William and Martha Sears.

My No-Cry book series has received great recognition worldwide and:

• won a 2007 iParenting Media Award for outstanding book (iParenting is the largest certified evaluation system of children's parenting products in the industry)

• is recommended by UNICEF and the World Health Organisation

• won Amazon's Best of Parenting Award in 2005 and 2007

• is approved by La Leche League International for group libraries

I am also an AOL coach on the kids and family.

Caller feedback

""The No Cry Booklet" Very informative. Considering buying book as having lots of trouble trying to get my 4 month old to go to sleep on his own and he has been very unsettled / crying baby since birth so will definitely try some of the tips given in leaflet."
