A trained Norland nursery nurse, Fiona has over a decade’s experience nannying for private families and teaching in nursery/primary schools. She feels tuned into what a child needs, wants and feels.
I have had many years experience and knowledge of toddlers, and with that potty training, fussy eaters, personal and social skills, routine, bedtime issues and discipline issues for carer and child. I feel tuned into what a child needs, wants and feels. I also get down to the child's level when dealing with issues and believe that if you promote a child's self-esteem and confidence with positive reinforcement you will see the rewards.
My own children were breastfed, and I understand it is not as easy as it seems. I’ve helped many clients with their newborns. With a relaxed, friendly approach it can be achieved without you feeling a failure.
Children in my care have a healthy attitude towards food. I have ideas and activities that will encourage good eating and therefore create a positive attitude at mealtimes. I can help with meal planning, involve children with food preparation and give ideas on how to encourage a healthy lifestyle for all the family.
I am a trained Norland College nursery nurse with National Nursery Examination Board (NNEB) and Advanced Diploma and Childcare and Education (ADCE) qualifications.
I have over 10 years experience working with children in private families and teaching in nursery/primary schools, plus have travelled with families and am experienced in teaching three to five-year-olds.
I enjoy the challenges that children bring and can give excellent, positive and rewarding advice for caregivers. I have my own children now and so understand parents concerns even more so. I have first hand experience with boys and girls (and they are different!) from newborn to six-year-olds.
It would give me great joy to help you with any issues, no matter how small or big you feel they are.
