Joanne’s passion as a business coach is to help mums turn a hobby into a viable small business, just like she’s done herself. She’s the author of Crafting a Successful Small Business.
I specialise in small business start ups, mainly mums who are running a business around young children. I am able to provided advice, help and support in areas such as social media marketing, blogging, press releases, award applications, networking and event organising.
I have been short listed, a finalist and even won a few awards over the past 3 years. Having appeared in local and national newspapers & magazines, I also regularly appear on local radio including BBC Radio Solent.
I live in rural Dorset with my partner David and our three children Charlie 4, Megan 3 and new baby Olive. I started my first business back in 2008 weeks before I gave birth to Megan, Charlie Moo’s is named after my son who we have called Moo since birth. Specialising in handmade fabric party bags, wooden and traditional fillers and in 2010 we began to add a range of Moo branded products including cake toppers and wrapping paper.
In 2009 I co-founded Networking Mummies, a community based training, support and networking group for mums in business. After nearly 3 years, 5 branches across the UK, 2 Business Mums Journals and on Networkimg Mummies Bigger Picture Magazine the time had come to reassess where I was going. In November 2011 I decided that my priorities, work load and health had changed and that something had to change. It was a hard decision but I decided to sell my half of Networking Mummies UK. I wish them great success in the future.
My first book 'Crafting a Successful Small Business' is due for release in March 2012. A start up guide for people looking to turn a hobby into a viable small business.
