I attended the prestigious Norland College which is a centre of excellence in child care and has been training Nursery Nurses (Nannies) for over 100 years. I gained my Council of Awards in Children’s Care and Education (CACHE) Diploma and my Norland Badge. I have more recently completed my Montessori early childhood teaching certificate, and am working toward the teaching diploma and my level 4 professional Statius.
I have been involved with caring for children for 18 years. I have mainly worked with children from the day they were born till about 8 years old. I have made Nanning a career choice and have enjoyed the diversity of my work no two days are ever the same. I have spent 18 years developing strategies to deal with behaviour and thinking on my feet, I have practiced a huge amount of different approaches to the care and education of young children. With each family I have worked with I have had to change the strategies slightly as I am working with different parents. Even though the strategies can change there is always a constant and that is the children.
They are all struggling to learn and adapt to an adult world and some parents a lucky enough to be well informed life teachers. Other parents don’t have the same kind of social network, family structure around them, and relaying on books, magazine articles, friends well-meant advice. It can be hard to see the right approach for you and your family.
I am able to help I listen to you and then help you work through the issue while offering practical technics, so it is your ideas you are implementing but using different strategies, this makes the whole experience unique to you and your family.
Working with families is not a 9 to 5 job you are continually living your job I understand the feeling of exhaustion, because I have had to carry on with my job after only having 2 hours sleep. I have seen and been part of many of life’s unexpected bumps from resuscitating an infant, first days at school, being the shoulder to cry on when you are going back to work 6 months after giving birth and it all gets too much. I have exchanged glances with mums while a Dr is giving the wrong diagnose and given hugs when she has giving the right one. I am full of handy hints and tricks! Like putting a little bongela on the skin before having an injection as it numbs the area a little.
There is no need to struggle on give me a call and let’s take control again.
I am here to answer any questions you have and also to reassure you that you are doing a good job.
