In her own words

Hello, my name’s Judith Sharman and I am a Families and Schools Consultant. We all want to be the best parents we can and I provide expert support to get the most out of the Education System. I’m here on the phone for advice should your child be diagnosed with a Special Educational Need; if your child is Gifted or Talented and is struggling in school; or simply as a listening ear for advice about how to navigate the Education System because somehow things ‘seem to be going wrong’. I’ll also help with any difficult family relationships, including practical suggestions for how to get things back on track.

As a teacher, Special Needs coordinator, Adviser for Gifted & Talented children, Head Teacher and Education Consultant, I have been lucky enough to work with wonderful children, great families and inspirational colleagues. When working with children, I’ve always my greatest interests have been the barriers that reduce or even prevent successful learning and the key factors that make efficient and effective learning easier.

Why is it that learning seems so easy for some and yet there are children who are just as bright who struggle and founder? Why do some children find it so easy to be popular and others find friendships difficult? From my work as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator I have a specialist understanding of a wide range of Special Needs (Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Autism, Oppositional Defiance Disorder and so on). I’ll work with you to find optimal ways these needs can be met. For the parents of gifted children, I’ll help you ensure that their learning needs are also given the professional attention that they deserve. Years of research into Learning, Psychology and the Neuroscience of how children learn has given me effective insights into how any parent (or teacher) can help. My solutions are typically ‘not rocket science’ as they say, and you don’t need to invest in any expensive programme with me to gain my advice.

Together, we can help your children to have the best chance to make the most of their lives now - when it matters most - at home, at school, in their friendships, in their behaviour, in their learning and more. So no matter what difficulties your family is facing, I’m here to take your call. Until then, I wish you all the very best,

Judith
