In her own words

My name is Lucy-Ann Prideaux. I’m a registered nutritionist in the UK. My formal qualifications include an MSc degree in human nutrition in 1997, and a first class BSc degree in sports science. I also hold numerous certificates in fitness training (gained since 1989), and I’m a qualified Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle practitioner, having studied with the European Institute of Vedic Studies (EIVS). This course is developed by Dr David Frawley (AIVS) in the US, and taught by Vaidya Atreya Smith in the U.K.

I have a passion for helping people, and specifically in helping them find ‘optimal’ health, and reaching their own physical and mental potential. This, together with my knowledge of food and cuisine (especially vegan and raw food), the role that food and nutrition plays in digestive function, stress reduction, immune function, disease prevention and sports performance, and an ever-expanding knowledge of nutritional science, has led to my current roles as business owner, nutritionist, freelance writer and passionate communicator!

I run a consultancy called Simply Nutrition, offering nutrition and lifestyle coaching and consultation packages and products.

I have over 20 years of experience working with people, and have attracted many individuals aiming to achieve better health through dietary, lifestyle and behavioural change. I inspire people to take responsibility for their health and improve self-awareness, and can help them by giving out up-to-date food and nutrition education, as well as ongoing coaching and support. My clients come from all walks of life. I work with the general public, athletes, sports teams, as well as companies and organisations, interested or involved in food, lifestyle and nutrition education.

My career so far...

Before my degrees, I taught exercise classes, and personal training, alongside my own training and competing in triathlon. Since focusing primarily on nutrition and food education I’m lucky to have worked in a wide variety of settings, both with the general public, businesses and corporations, athletes and sports teams, always aiming to do one thing - improve people's knowledge and understanding of food and nutrition and healthy living. It’s vital that each individual knows how he or she can use newfound knowledge to get where they want to go! After all, knowledge is not true knowledge until we have lived it.

I’ve had wonderful learning opportunities and as such, have gained a wealth of experience as a practising nutritionist. My work is a true passion as it enables me to do what I love doing - interacting with a variety of people, teaching and educating in exciting and inspiring ways, and supporting people on their own personal journeys.

I always feel very privileged to be able to make a real and lasting difference to people's lives. Naturally, I have a passionate interest and fascination with nutrition (relating to both ancient traditions, as well as modern science and modern living), but more specifically in the fact that what we eat (and how we live our lives) truly does affect our entire physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health and wellbeing.

I bring to all aspects of my work my growing knowledge and experience from my never-ending studies in nutrition, health and wellbeing, and my own sporting and fitness background, as well my interest (and study) in Ayurvedic medicine, vegetarian and vegan cuisine.

Please contact me if you’d like me to help, inform, motivate and inspire you toward better health, happiness, performance or ideal body weight.
