After 10 years working first as a children's bookseller in the prestigious Heffers' Children’s Bookshop in Cambridge, and then as a sales manager for a variety of children's publishers, I decided to try and write something myself. I write novels that are published for young adults, though enjoyed by adults too. I now write exclusively for Orion Books, and both aspects of my experience make me well-placed to advise not only on the creative aspects of the job, but just as importantly, how to maximise your chances of getting published.
