Specialities
I’ve worked full time as a midwife since qualifying in 1990. Within this time I’ve had extensive experience working both in hospitals and in the community. I’ve supported women with high-risk pregnancies as well as through healthy pregnancies and natural childbirth, including home births. I’m currently a university tutor at a medical school and support teaching in obstetrics to undergraduate medical students. I continue to work in delivery suites and antenatal clinics to maintain my midwifery skills and knowledge.
My experience and ability to give a clear explanation means I can offer high-quality information and help women and their families understand pregnancy, labour and breastfeeding.
In her own words
Pregnancy and childbirth is highly individualised and can be an extremely positive experience. It is the same with breastfeeding. However for many women it is a time of intense anxiety and/or conflicting advice, and having a clear understanding can go a long way in relieving such anxiety.
