Hi. My name is Mario Petrucci. My main contribution to the Greatvine site at this time is to do with Study Skills and Essay Writing. I am a fellow with the Royal Literary Fund, specialising in ways to improve student work, particularly for those who've hit a block with essay or exam grades. I've developed a reputation (a good one!) for inventing useful and highly visual student aids in these areas. The materials I've provided on Greatvine are, I feel, among my most accessible, relevant and effective. They're tried and tested. Anyone can use them.

PLEASE BE AWARE: I am currently unavailable for consultations and therefore, in the meantime, please do take advantage of my written materials. I hope you will find them of help.

Meanwhile, my CV tells me I'm a multi-award-winning writer, freelance teacher, film-maker and eco-physicist. In 1999 I became the only poet to have been resident at the Imperial War Museum and with BBC Radio 3. I am currently Literacy Consultant at the IWM, dealing with creative captioning, applied literacy and family learning. I founded, and organise, several writing ventures in London which incorporate readings, training and workshops (Blue Nose, writers inc., ShadoWork, Diorama). I also devise and run a variety of creative writing and literacy courses across the UK, for Arvon, in schools, universities and on the performance scene.

I deliver AQA-related workshops/ lectures on war poetry (plus national INSET for Edexcel, relating to the London syllabus), and am involved in the Poetryclass initiative (DfEE and the Poetry Society) which provides poetry services to all schools in the country. I also contribute to international conferences, for instance with NAWE and the British Council.

But none of that need worry you! I hope the essays and exams go well.
