My name is Marion, and I’m an expert Consultant for teenagers having problems. If you are worried about anything then call me - talking about your problems really can help, and I am a great listener. That goes for parents and carers too. We’ll look at what is really going on, explore the issues surrounding it all, and find ways to address it. I have the skills to connect with young people and understand some of the issues in their lives. It’s not easy being a teenager - that awkward, uncomfortable time when you are being ‘rewired’ from child to adult can be very tough. So many pressures from the media, peers, schools, family, it’s no wonder that issues arise around bullying, self-harming, sexuality, school, work, educational exclusion - the list is endless.

I love working with teenagers, especially those who would probably be described as ‘challenging’!! I actually think that every young person is a unique individual, full of potential, and I strongly believe that the behaviours teenagers display are just their mask, their protective shell hiding emotions, fears and insecurities. I’m convinced that negative behaviour is their message to us asking for help, guidance, support and love.

Sadly, many of the teens and families I’ve worked with have received little positive feedback about anything, and have become demoralised and defeated by the negativity that seems to surround their educational and social experiences. Their teenagers are often ‘labelled’ as lazy, stupid, disruptive, trouble makers... and so they set out to try and prove this to be correct! Unable to accept help or advice from their parents, teachers or anyone they regard in authority, they become ‘Too Cool for School’ and can spiral out of control. They present an angry, rebellious, uncaring image, and we don’t know how to get through to them...
