In his own words

Hello, my name is Rick Norris and I am a Chartered Psychologist and a Visiting Consultant at an NHS hospital in the Midlands, where I have been counselling clients with stress, anxiety and depression for the last ten years. I help people overcome some tremendously difficult stages in their life, including those brought on by post traumatic stress (PTSD), anxiety, stressful situations and depression. I’m delighted to now be able to offer my advice on the phone at Greatvine, as a way to give you immediate advice and a listening ear in the privacy and comfort of your own home.

When I work with any type of issue, I use a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) approach. This helps you to not only better understand the nature of the problems you are facing but also to do something very practical to solve them. Alongside that understanding you gain comes some easy to learn and highly practical techniques for dealing with your issues by thinking and acting more positively. I am also qualified to help you if you’re dealing with post traumatic stress as a result of any incident that has caused you to experience episodes of acute anxiety. I have extensive experience of working with clients to overcome other types of problems, such as finding a way out of depression, or managing periods in their life when feeling anxious has become a problem that erodes their quality of life. As well as working with adults, over the years I have also developed an interest in helping parents and teenagers cope with a wide variety of psychological problems.

Being a Chartered Psychologist means I have undertaken a variety of accredited specialist postgraduate training and qualifications in addition to my psychology training which first allowed me to practice. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches are drawn from a ‘talking therapy’ method which has been recognised for many years now to help a wide range of problems.

I understand that for some people, it may feel easier to start to approach their problems on the phone than in person. Whether or not this sounds like you, I am here at Greatvine to offer professional, expert advice and interventions aimed at helping you regain a better quality of life. I look forward to talking to you,

Rick
