Hello, I’m Dr. Sabina Dosani and I am a medical doctor with specialist postgraduate training in psychiatry, plus further training in assessing and treating children and young people with emotional, behavioural and psychiatric problems. I am the Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at the Leapfrog Clinic and am well known as a child and adolescent psychiatry expert. I was born in the UK and trained at the Medical College of St Bartholomew's Hospital in London. I further specialised in Psychiatry, with a sub-specialism in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital. I have a particular medical expertise in attention, concentration, and focus; behaviour problems; autism and Asperger's Syndrome; Attention Deficit Disorder; Hyperactivity Disorder; anxiety disorders and depression; and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I can talk to parents about psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment plans for children or teenagers, including the types of behaviour or symptom rating scales that might be used. I also work with childhood bereavement, including children who have lost siblings and how to talk to children about death including traumatic death, murder and death by suicide.

I give advice including open adoption, and fostering, and often work with single parents & 'non traditional families'. That encompasses solo parent families by choice; parents of children conceived through donor insemination or surrogacy; gay and lesbian parents in nuclear or multiple co-parent triads. I’m also able to offer support when these relationships break down or are in difficulty.

For lawyers and solicitors needing specialist court reports that are accurate and timely, I am an expert witness for child, adolescent and family psychiatry cases; child development matters for care proceedings; and contact and adoption matters including "open" adoption. I also specialise in giving expert opinions in forensic cases involving possible Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); Asperger’s Syndrome; Capacity (Fitness to Plead).
