Hi, I’m Sarah Buchanan and my introduction to HypnoBirthing was for the birth of our first daughter. The experience was so overwhelmingly positive that it was an easy decision to go on to train as a fully qualified HypnoBirthing practitioner to help other mums. My skills are similar to those a doula can offer you - a woman knowledgeable about childbirth and a gentle presence, able to calm and provide support and reassurance. My knowledge and passion was sparked when I became a mother myself for the first time. I understand how a woman feels if her baby decides to come early or if she is faced with difficult decisions because she is 42 weeks and facing induction. I've been there! I understand your desire to want to do the best for your baby and can provide advice for when you’re not sure how to go about it. From my experiences as a HypnoBirthing practitioner, I can offer you calm and reassuring advice. I’m not medically trained but I can answer questions about positive, normal, natural childbirth. I can also allow you to better understand how to gain access to pregnancy professionals who can really make a difference. They can really enhance your chance of having a positive experience of the birth, which will ultimately benefit both you and your baby.
As well as helping expectant mums, I also understand that dads can often use some calm support during the pregnancy too. Since many modern fathers like to be there at the birth, it can really help to know what you might expect. Many dads like to be as well informed as possible, to be able to offer more support to their partner. I’m here to listen to your questions and concerns without “telling you what to do”. Instead I offer calm, non-judgemental information and resources that can really help enhance your experience of your partner’s pregnancy.
