Tim’s a psychological therapist, and uses meditation to help people understand how they’re feeling. Accredited by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, his areas include PTSD, depression and self-harm.
I work within the NHS as a psychological therapist and help people who are experiencing many different problems with their life. This covers a wide range of anxiety-based disorders such as: • Post-traumatic stress disorder • Generalised anxiety • Phobias • Health anxiety • Social anxiety and worry • Depression • Anger issues • Relationship difficulties • Trauma • Self-harm
The thought of entering into therapy can sometimes feel too daunting, and often just what’s needed is being able to talk to someone who has the skills to help work through a problem.
I specialise in offering mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, a technique that uses the practice of meditation to help see how to solve a difficulty. Through the use of one-off sessions I can help you understand how you’re responding to a particular stumbling block. I’ll help use meditation to not only break free of any unhelpful patterns they you may feel caught up in, but also to respond to a situation with a freshness and vitality that may be missing.
The NHS is increasingly recognising how important meditation can be for mental and physical health generally, and it’s a skill that’s there for everybody to use within his or her life. I’ve practiced it extensively and understand its value.
As a registered mental health nurse who works as a psychological therapist, I’m trained to MA degree level in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and have over 10 years experience in working with people who face mental health difficulties.
I’m accredited by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and always aim to provide a service to clients based upon their wishes, goals and aspirations.
