Tim’s a New York Times best-selling horror and dark fantasy writer. Having won three British Fantasy Awards, a Bram Stoker Award, and a Scribe Award, he’s perfect for sharing tips and tricks.
I make my living from writing. I'm particularly experienced in the horror and dark fantasy genres, and have written novels, novellas, short stories and screenplays, as well as collaborations in all of these areas. I've taught writing, been vice president of the Horror Writers Association, and I was also a judge for the World Fantasy Awards. I believe that all good writers strive to improve book by book.
I've enjoyed writing all my life, and now I'm lucky enough to be making a living from it. I'm a New York Times bestselling, multiple award-winning horror and dark fantasy writer. I've been a published writer for over 10 years, with novels, novellas, short stories, collections and screenplays to my name. I've worked widely in the independent press in the UK and USA, and for the past few years have also been working with mass market publishers in the USA, including Bantam Spectra, Leisure Books, Harper Collins and Simon & Schuster, as well as Orbit, Allison & Busby and Constable and Robinson in the UK. Several of my books are in development as movies, both in Hollywood and the UK. I am co-adapting a novel for Fox 2000 with my collaborator Christopher Golden.
I've won four British Fantasy Awards, a Bram Stoker Award, and a Scribe Award, as well as being shortlisted for World Fantasy and International Horror Guild Awards. I've also served as a judge for the World Fantasy Awards. I've written 20 novels, dozens of novellas and over a hundred short stories. I've also collaborated extensively with other writers. As well as the creative side, I have wide knowledge of the business side of writing, such as dealing with agents and publishers.
