I specialise in getting into the heart of a creative idea and finding the simplest way to communicate it to others. It's about inspiration, passion, excitement and really grasping what the centre of the vision is.
In a wider context I can talk you through the creative process, from the seed of an idea, to breaking down a pitch and then to the sell. I'll help you work out what’s needed to convince others you have the right vision, the capacity to deliver, the instinct to make something ground-breaking and with the best production values available.
I'll also give you home truths, which are often what’s really needed to creatively succeed.
I'm here to help you get in touch with the vision for your creative project, help you inhabit it, translate it to a medium where others can believe in it and then sell it so that it can become a reality.
I'm currently a successful commercials and documentary filmmaker with a speciality for getting inside the creative vision of a project and communicating it to a client, crew or audience.
Although my experience is varied and expansive, my university education is in illustration and animation. I trained and worked as a production designer, and studied art direction under Terry Ackland Snow who art-directed Batman and Rocky Horror amongst others.
After this, as an art consultant and designer I was part of a three-man pitch team that won the interior art contracts for the new Wembley and Emirates Stadiums. I've worked with the COI, Virgin Music, L’Oreal, BBC Worldwide, Lil-lets, Calor Gas, the Welsh Assembly, Ernst and Young, NHS, Macmillan Cancer Relief, Dominos, SOS Childrenʼs Villages and the FSA amongst others. Also, as a gigging saxophonist I understand creatively how music, sound and picture all come together.
You may have a wonderful idea, a dream, a poem, an abstract thought that tastes great every time it enters your head, but not quite understand how to make it a reality - and I’ll help you take this leap. You may also be nearly complete on a treatment for a creative opportunity but not quite have the confidence to pitch it and I’ll help give you tools to win the contract.
